HR & Payroll Manager

This is a key role reporting to the CEO

Job Purpose:

Deal with people-related issues such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organizational development, safety, wellness, benefits, payroll and training.


  • HR Degree / Diploma
  • Payroll Diploma – SAGE VIP Premier


At least 5 to 8 years current experience in HR & Payroll

  • Must have SAGE VIP payroll system knowledge & experience
  • Performance Management Appraisal experience,
  • Knows & understands the labour legislation

  • Recruitment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that there is an optimal organizational structure
  • Effective budgeting, management of costs associated with recruitment
  • Job Descriptions for the organization and titles for appropriate positions
  • Facilitate the Performance Management system and collating of ratings
  • Managing the House Keeping personnel
  • Management of employee benefits (for e.g., but no limited to Pension / Provident Fund and Medical Aid, cell phone contracts, wellness programme)
  • Accurate payroll process, ensuring ESS & VIP are regularly updated.  ESS is accessible to all employees to process claims
  • Reconciliation of Payroll and benefits, Provident, Pension and Medical Aid
  • Tax Year end Reconciliation / IRP5’s
  • Legislative reporting EE, WSP & OID 


  • Adhere to all HR policies, follows relevant pre-defined HR processes
  • Audits complete with a satisfactory achievement rating

Working Conditions:

Must have a vehicle and driver’s license.  Under normal operating conditions, this role will work to the usual organizational policies and norms.  Able to work extended hours when required. Ability to work remotely.
